This one Lin-Manuel Miranda story from when he was writing Hamilton lives in my head rent free: He was on the subway going to a friend’s birthday party and on the train he was struck with inspiration for Wait for It. So he showed up to the party, wished his friend a happy birthday, left, and then wrote the song immediately on his train ride home. Sometimes a commute can be great haha
